Using game genie in mamewah
« on: March 09, 2005, 01:46:24 am »
Can anyone tell me the proper route to using game genie codes.  Is there master lists out there that could be copied and pasted into the genie folder instead of one by one(Not looking for a site, just the method)?  Second, I attempted to use a code in Gens by running the emu directly outside of mamewah, and it worked fine.  When I attempted to fire up Gens in mamewah, everything runs at about 5x the normal speed no matter what the game.  I don't know how to slow it down.  Any help here would be appreciated. :-\

I can't help you with your question but was wondering if you could tell me exactly what game genie is.  Last weekend I set up  FCEU .97 and was getting an error about game genie so I turned that option off and all seems to work fine.  You may try  FCEU .97 and see if that helps your speed problem.  I don't use mamewah but use atomicFE (and love it!)

game genie was an adapter you put your cartridges into, then put both in the console back in the old days.  You would then enter a code for whatever cheat was available for a game.  On the emus, you can enter these codes into that folder, and when the game comes up, you can use the cheats.  Fceu was looking for codes when the error occured.  It's a neat feature if you want an easy way to beat games or want to unlock anything.  Fceu is for the NES.  I just need to fix my genesis emulator.  Thanks for the help!

Sorry don't know if you ever found answers to your questions but I came across this today and thought about this old post.  You ever try this?
