New Blitz Project
« on: March 05, 2005, 11:13:10 pm »
Greetings,
I just started preliminary plans of my first self-built cabinet. My first cab was a conversion of an old Taito Machine and it turned out decently but I made enough mistakes to want to try again,

I would like to make a dedicated blitz, I know I can get the board and harddrive off of ebay, but I dont know where I would be able to find the control panel art, sideart, marquee, ect.

http://www.happcontrols.com/amusement/gameparts/midway_decals.htm#22 , theres most of the artwork you need. For my next project I was actually thinking about doing a dedicated NFL Blitz 2000 Gold/ NBA Showtime. Don't know what Im getting myself info, but any sites with boards of that game for sale, or sites with the artowrk for that game would be highly appreciated.  ;)

It's been a real search for parts for NFL Blitz 2000 Gold/NBA Showtime. So far all I have found is a place to get the Marquee & the Side Art pieces: http://www.highway.net.au/parts

I will keep my eyes open though.

I've got a 2000 Blitz Gold board and drive, joysticks, marquee.  At some point in the future I'm going to sell it, but not yet.  What do they go for?

Hmmm... did you check the happ link i posted above, seems you can get most of the artwork for nfl blitz 2000 gold/ showtime there. Also the link you posted you can get sideart and marquee. I just wonder if this is a doable project? Ive never wired anything jamma before or done any work on a "real" arcade machine.

Just a short note. I've been slowly gathering parts for my cab. Picked up two very nice 49-way sticks on e-bay for only 24.00 plus shipping and a blitz CP overlay for only 5.00. If this trend keeps up I will be able to pull this off with a reasonable budget. Go Me!!!

The work continues... I have made some progress on the Project working mainly on the CP. I recently obtained a Blitz 99 CP that needed some work. The Board under the CP overlay was in rough shape and the whole thing was pretty dirty. I replaced the top board and cleaned up everything else. I also replaced one of the joysticks. I have included a before pic and the results so far.

Just another quick update. I received the Blitz side art today. Looks real nice. So to recap I have gathered so far...  The Marquee, The main board and Hard Drive, the Control Panel, and the side art. I am awaiting both the Blitz and Blitz 99 owners manuals so that I can see exactly what I need in the way of Jamma Harneses and the power supply. Once these are obtained...then I will tackle the Monitor. So far so good.
