Z26 and X26 vs. Mamewah
« on: March 04, 2005, 05:03:13 am »
I need some serious help.  I can get Z26 to work with X26.  I cannot get Z26 to work through mamewah.  When I fire up Mamewah, I can see the ROM list, but when I try to start the game, nothing.  I have the path correct and I have installed the Mame friendly version of z26.213.  Could someone please forward me an INI for this emu?  I have my other emus running, I just can't figure this one out.  There has to be something I'm missing to get the ROMs to run.  I checked the ROM extension, everything my limited experience has.  I tried JCrouse's set up, everything I have come across, and I'm stumped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Also, if you are familiar with the Mame friendly version, do I need to make any changes to get this to operate properly?  I figure not, but you never know.

I figured out the emu problem.  I renamed the folder my roms was in and did not refresh mamewah.  So after I reinstalled the emu, I did not check my ini for the rom path, just the emu.  Now I have a problem I can't figure out.  My controls do not work with z26.  I down loaded JCrouse's version on his controls INI for z26 and placed it in the same folder as z26.exe.  He said that it was hacked to be user friendly with the mame setup.  My button values are different than what he has listed in SDL key code.  When I changed the z26.ini ResetKey value to 49(Which is the #1 and the player 1 button on my cab), it does not work.  It is still the F1 Key(Value 282) even though I changed the ini file and saved it.   I attempted to change all the values necessary for my buttons, but no response.  I read something about them being hard coded?  How can I change these values to work with my CP layout?  I need it in laymans terms, as even tonight is the first time I figured out what SDL was, what the values were, and how they corresponded to z26.  Thank you for your help.
