Hierachycal multiconf in Atomic FE
« on: February 27, 2005, 06:07:07 pm »
Hi,

I had some question about hierarchical Multiconfiguration in AtomicFe.

This post give some guide lines waiting the multiconfiguration wizard.

There is a tutorial in the folder docs\Francais\old called multiconf_tutorial.  Unfortunaly it is in French and it refers to the first version of Atomic but i think i could help you. (not to much blabla, and step by step screenshots)

There is also the HTML documentation in English which talk about the multiconfig mode.

Some guide-lines :
- First create all your configuration individually and give them a specific name.
ex :
FightingGame.cfg
PuzzleGame.cfg
ShootGame.cfg

Put them in a directory , you can call : MameConfigs

- in the MameConfigs folder create a text file called :  FullList.txt
Fill the file like that :

FightingGame "Fighting Games"
PuzzleGame "Puzzle Games"
ShootGame "Shoot them up"

Then create a master config ( Atomic.cfg)

On the general tab : Select "this config is a Conf selector"

then go on the Folder Tabs.

Make point the "Repertoire Config" (not translated oups..) to the folder : MameConfigs you just created.

Make point the "Metadata Folder" to the folder : MameConfigs too. (in fact the folder which contains the fulllist.txt)

Save the config in the same folder than Atomic.exe and give the name Atomic.cfg.

So now, if you run Atomic , you should see your 3 selections in the menu

Fighting Games
Puzzle Games
Shoot them up

To select Puzzle Games, select it , and press "player 1 Start" as if you want to run a game.
When you will be on the Puzzle Games menu and you want go back to the previous selection screen press "player 2 start".

Hoping it helps you.
