CH7 NY Report: Video Games that help loose weight?
« on: February 23, 2005, 02:39:46 pm »
I meant to catch the report but missed it.  Did anyone else manage to see it that can g ive me the low down?  It aired on  a Friday last week.  I'm assuming they where featuring one of those dance  games that you see at the few remaining arcades....but I'm interested in the details of the report as I've been trying to loose 50 pounds for the last 4 months now with no success, so I'm willing to try anything new :).

Thanks!

I saw something on Good Morning America (I think) a few months back about a girl who lost a large amount of weight from one of those dance games......

DDR definately keeps you in shape, especially once you start reaching high level songs. its basicly like sprinting in a crazy fashion for 2 minutes straight.

go play some DDR its fun and is good for you

It's true... I just got Feet of Fury for the DC.  Great game.

You need that conditioning to beat up the people who make fun of you for playing it.

That's why I wouldn't play the game in the arcade.  I'd feel to self concious doing it :)... But a home version for the Gamecube I might give a shot...

Get Stepmania.  The program is free and the music files can be easily found online.

Then get yourself a cheapie dance pad...

I just started playing before New Year's and I'm up to 3 feet now songs now.

There IS a GC version.

Stepmania... I should get that.  I do believe I have a PSX-USB adapter somewhere around here too.  I do have several pads.  The thing that usually stops me from playing once I get on a role is that I do not like techno.
