Strange Mame Problem - plz help!
« on: February 23, 2005, 03:42:24 am »
I have had a mame box up and running for awhile now, with MAME & MAMEWAH. MAMEWAH is in startup.

Anyways I've been tweaking the box to improve performance and boot times, and done a number of things in the last 24 hours:

-installed exetrlst and turned off performance reporting
-installed pagedefrag and run
-installed bootvis once, but i dont think it worked

Anyways since then, when I launch a game from Mamewah, it comes up with an XP error (and that error reporting ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---). All games do this, nothing works.

I tried reinstalling MAMEWAH and this doesnt change it - but reinstalling MAME fixes it.

After a reboot/shutdown however, the problem arises again!

Obviously I cant install MAME everytime I want to play it - has anyone else heard of this problem? Its so random, I dont know what could cause it..

The very very last option is to format the HDD but I've literally spent hours doing lots of little tweaks and really dont want to do this.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Anyone got any advice/opinion? Even just some moral support? :(
