Damn I hope this happens.  I used to watch it all the time back in middle school/high school.  I would love to add this to my collection of DVDs of shows I watched as a kid (21 Jump Street, Miami Vice, Tour of Duty, Quantum Leap, Greatest American Hero).

I do.  There are certain shows that I have never gotten tired of.  And if I have them on DVD and nothing else is on, I'll pull out one of those old shows.

The only shows that I really watch on TV nowadays is Law & Order and Curb Your Enthusiasm.  I have never even bothered to watch those so-called talent shows and "reality" programs, which unfortunately is what is mostly shown.

Of course you're not gonna sit and watch 10 or 20+ episodes in one sitting, but to me the shows I grew up with were the best and I never get tired of them.

I watched all of season one of "24" in a two day marathon one weekend.  What a bum I was, but I had to see what was going to happen next.  I didn't start watching the show until the end of season 2.

There are no details as of yet.  This has been a long time in coming.  It is taking awhile to work out the licensing of all of the classic rock tunes used in the show.

Yeah, it can suck when they don't get the rights to the music.  When I bought my kids the first season of SpongeBob I kept wondering "where the hell is the first episode?"  I guess they couldn't get the rights (or didn't want to pay) for Tiny Tim's music for the DVD.  I always wondered if someone would sue Paramount for false advertising since it says "The Complete 1st Season." ;D

While we're on the subject of licensed music:  It's been almost 20 years, but I could have swore that the opening theme to Tour of Duty was Paint It Black.  Is it just me or did they actually change it for the DVD release?

I love TV series on DVD.  I get to watch stuff I was never able to as a kid (Greatest American Hero) or stuff that I didn't get the channel for (Buffy/Angel)

I did buy 24 Season 1, but I sold it quickly thereafter.  Why?  The whole premise of the show is shock/suprise.  Since I'd watched it once already, I couldn't watch it again with the same degree of fascination.  I rented seasons 2 & 3.

Angel/Buffy, OTOH, I have all seasons except Angel season 5, and I'm debating not getting that.  The first half of the season was excellent, but the second half sucked.  Good reason for that - they cancelled it halfway thru, and they had to scramble to re-write everything.

FireFly, Joss Whedon's other series was cancelled after only ten shows aired, but they shot fourteen.  Darn shame, it was a *fine* show.  Good thing they're shooting a movie based on it.

I think it's nice to sit back and watch the old shows on DVD plus no commercials

Yes the theme for Tour of Duty was Paint It Black back when it was on TV

That's what I thought.  Anyhow, remember the instrumental that played during the end credits?  Well, that's what is now played during the opening.  It actually doesn't bother me (it didn't stop me from buying the second season when it came out).

Now a series I'd really like to see on DVD would be Misfits of Science.

Wow, I'd forgotten all about that show!  I loved it, then it was just gone one day.  Made me very sad.

Speaking of misfits, this show rocked, what sucks is you can't get it on dvd. (unless you want a copy recorded off a tape by some guy in his basement.)
