MAMEwah on startup...
« on: February 19, 2005, 03:20:08 pm »
Hey guys, wonder of there's a easy fix for this...

When I startup my MAMEcab, I have MAMEwah in the startup folder, so when I power on, it kicks directly into my FE. Sometimes, though, the taskbar sticks around and I need to mouse click to make MAMEwah step up. Any way to fix this?

And yes, I've tried the using MAMEwah as my skin thing... it was ugly. I jacked my computer up bad.  ;D

Are you using the newest version of Mamewah? I think Minwah added some stuff recently to combat some of the focus problems...

Wrong! You can give it up, you just choose not to. Me thinks it's time to learn a little and move to the latest version. There is plenty of help out there and the improvements are MAJOR.

John

LOL. You're probably right on there.  ;D

Don't hear me wrong, I have set up a newer version (to try it out) and I'll admit, it runs better (that minwah is a freakin jedi) but my current setup (MAME .83, MAMEwah.97) is already installed and working so nicely and I'm not really looking to screw with it until my next MAME version update (which seems to be getting close with all those SEGA ROMS being fixed up.)

I've taken so much time dialing in my current setup (custom lists, manually renamed ROMS, custom layout, BG sounds, ect. ect...) and it was such a slow learning process for me, that when it's time to redo it all I'll step up and get all "current stuff" going, but for now, I'm just looking to have it pop up when I power up the cab.

Thanks for the nudge tho.  :)

I'm pretty sure that this was the utility I've used in the past:

Gunstar: When you're ready to try the newest MAMEWAH just install it to a new folder so it doesn't mess up your current setup, and try Screamings 'MAMEWAH Config' (see my links page) as an alternative to MAMEWAH Setup ;)

I second this... the new version is much better... took me a little bit of time to get the config by hand, but once you get used to it, it's actually quite easy to use.  I just finished setting up CPViewer and it works really nice with it.  I just need to figure out where to mount my LCD panel and I'll set that too :)
