ATI HDTV Adapter (640x432 resolution) -- Do any games support this resolution?

I've just setup my MAME arcade PC and it's using the latest version of PowerStrip (on WinXP SP2) with an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro using the ATI HDTV (component-video) adapter.

In PowerStrip I added the custom resolution 640x432 since that is what I need to use so my ATI 480i/HDTV adapter displays everything w/o any overscan.

My problem now is that every game I install (DirectX or OpenGL) doesn't seem to support this custom resolution.

Am I doing something wrong? How can I get DirectX games to recognize my custom resolution and work properly?

Honestly?

You probably can't.

The only thing I can suggest is re-installing the game as many games poll the registry for possible resolutions during setup.  Of course if powerstrip doesn't add the registry entry then it won't help. 

However, if you dig around in the registry you should find your video card and a section that has the possible resolutions. You should be able to manually add that one assuming you put in the correct values.

Well, I've looked and can't really find anything.  I have found that 720x480 resolution works pretty decent too with only a little bit of overscan.

Do you know if I can use 640x480 with the ATI HDTV adapter but resize the screen so there is no overscan?

yeah..... or at least in theory....

ati cards seem to get their positional data from the pc monitor last hooked to them.....  hook up a pc monitor.... adjust it until there is plenty of blackspace.... switch to the tv and see if it helps
