WG D-9200: mounting / power cord
« on: February 18, 2005, 03:49:26 pm »
Cab project is nearing final assembly. Two questions on my WG D9200 monitor:

1. I was planning to mount it without actually using a shelf but rather by mounting 3 lengths of 2x4's: two underneath and one for the top bracket. Will this be enough to support it? (figuring I'll mount the 2x4's with two 2" screws at each end coming in from the outside of the MDF, plus glue)

2. Dumb question: where does the damn power cord plug into the monitor? The supplied documentation is pretty shoddy.

I can't answer your question, but please let is know how your mounting method works out if you do go this way.

Power cord plugs in near the back left hand corner (looking from the back) of the main circuit board.

FYI for anyone wondering about this...I built this test case out of scrap MDF and a 2x4. The board is fastened with two 3" screws at each end. I was able to stand on the board and even jump up & down a little. I'm 6' 7" and just over 300 lbs. It'll surely hold the monitor.
