Okay, little confused by you question!

Well, as far as Emu's are concerned, they vary in quality, bu the easiest way to get them working is to use Self Boot Inducer.  Download it at http://consolevision.com/members/sbiffy/files//Sbindv4.exe and the go to this address for the tutorial, which is also included with the app; http://consolevision.com/members/sbiffy/tutorial.shtml.

You'll need Emu's for it, which you can find here http://consolevision.com/members/sbiffy/browse/browse.cgi?browse&Emus.

As for backing up games, backing up a copy is easy, but I'm not going into that here.  As for backing up an original, forget it.  It's possible, but the DC used a propietry drive specially designed for the DC called a GD-ROM.  Although it used CD's for storage, the actual structure of the disc was very different, and they cannot be read by a standard CD-ROM.  The only way to get the data fromt he disc is to pull it down from the DC using either a broadband adaptor or one of the coders cables.  But to then get the game onto cd you would need to hack the 1st_read.bin file and downsample a lot of the audio and video.  In short, if you have to ask questions like this, I wouldn't bother trying!

A good source of info on the hardware is http://d-central.com/forum.  You'll need to join to access the actual DC forum, but when you log in you'll get the full list of areas.

Hope this helped a little, from one newbie to another!   ;)
Well I say let's get out there and TW*T it!

Don't forget http://www.dcemulation.com

Great site

great forums.

Downloaded and had the emu selfbooting in under 20 mins.

(If you use nero, try the tao option, not the dao, this worked for me.)

Later,

Bleemcast is a PSX emulator for the Dreamcast, there are also Snes, Genesis, Nes, and Master System emulators to name a few...  there are more.  I have yet to see a N64 emulator yet.

One thing to remember about Bleemcast...

The full Emu was never offcially finished, nor released!

The version doing the rounds is actually Beta class, and a lot of games have some issues with them.  The official Bleemcast disks supported just one game, and worked brilliantly, improved graphics, anti-aliasing, loading times, etc.  So much so that Sony got very embarrased when they were released (Sony touted that all PS1 games would run on their spanky new PS2 with all of the above improvements, and fialed dismally to deliver!), the main factor being that their new machine was being outclassed in this area by what they referred to as 'outdated' hardware!

Suck it, Sony!   ;D

Anyway, I think there was 3 official Bleemcast emu's released, one for Metal Gear, one for Gran Turismo and I can't remeber the last.  The only one that I've seen in person is MGS, and damn, no wonder Sony were pissed!

I may be wrong on some of the points, but hey...

I AM ZORBO... I WILL DESTROY YOU! ;D

yeah, i remember Bleemcast fully, I used to have metal gear on it emulating off the actual PSX Disc.. but later it ended up erasing all my Data on VMU, and giving me sometype of Dog Virus... So i returned it...

but what about the ISO's?

The third one was Tekken 3.

First stop should be DCEmu, you'll find all you need to know there!  As for emulating the N64, as far as I can remember, there is an emu newly released for the DC, but whether it'll emulate Castlevania or not I couldn't say, you'll have to check it out yourself!

You find a nice list of emulators at DCEmu.co.uk, or us the link below to get straight to the list!   ;D

Have fun, and let me know how you get on!  ;)
