CTRLR Editing and Creating
« on: February 18, 2005, 09:33:09 am »
I Have found out through research that starting from mame .85 and up, the CTRLR settings have changed to XML. Now I have searched high and low for any information on how to create one. I have a cocktail table and I am trying to get Player 2 Trackball on Centiped and on Golden Tee games to work with the second mouse that I have setup. This would be by using CTMOUSE and OPTIDRV. This was working fine in versions .84 and lower.

I want to use DOS version .92 so I can get GT2 gt98, 99 etc to work.

Will someone please direct me to where and how to get CTRLR cfg files created and configured.

Tahnks.

Can you set this up in the mame menu?  If so the cfg files are in the same format as the ctrlr files now.

Currently, the best bet for an outline is to search these forums (it's been talked about a lot), or check out easyemu

Of course, the ctrlr and cfg files now follow basically the format, so looking at the the cfg folder and in the ctrlr files supplied with official mame is the straightest way to the meat.

I have a converter around here somewhere.... but I'll be damned if I remember where I put it.  If anyone can find it post links.

No seriously.... I don't remember what I did with it.

yup that's it.....

make your ini files the old school way.... put them in a folder in your ctrlr folder like you used to....

run it and it'll make the new cfg style file out of it

no fuss, no muss
