Dual Trackball Support
« on: February 16, 2005, 09:12:18 pm »
I was able to get 2 trackballs working with DOS mame.67 for player 1 analog  and player 2 analog. But when I upgraded to DOS mame .90 the player 2 analog doesn't see it anymore. Any Ideas? Please help.

Thanks,
Mortacci

So does anyone know how to get DOS mame .90 to recognize the 2nd mouse? Any help would be great.

I've not tried due to lack of two trackballs, but it is likely something simple like editing MAME.INI and enabling DUAL LIGHTGUNS since lightguns are treated like pointing devices.

Is there a mame.ini  for DOS mame .90? Anyone know how to do it?

Since there are very few dual trackball games... especially which have been added recently... Why upgrade?

most frontends can handle more then one version of mame (mine doesn't anymore since I removed the listinfo parser... so you need listxml without hacking your own)...

But if there isn't a reason to upgrade for a given game... then just keep two copies around.

and I believe that they removed this when Aaron redid a bunch of the controller code 6 months + ago

Well, I downloaded the latest .92 rom set the other day and I thought I had to upgrade my mame version to play the new games. Isn't this correct?

I was hoping to get the GT99 and GT2k to run in Cocktail mode so player 2 trackball would work. Is there a good way to do this?

I believe in cocktail mode it will also flip the screen.

I do have a cocktail cabinet. It would be nice to switch to player 2 though. There's got to be someone out there that knows how to get it to work.
