Mamewah/Lunar Lander/MAME problem
« on: February 13, 2005, 05:32:38 pm »
I'm having issues with Lunar Lander in Mamewah - simply it doesn't work.

I select it in Mamewah's menu - the box comes up "Loading: Lunar Lander" (or indeed "Lunar Lander (Rev 2)") and the box just hangs - nothing happens.

Roms are up to date (v.91) Mamewah is up to date, no other problems.

This has been happening for some months now - I really fancy a game!

Any ideas anyone?

Hmmm, sounds like bad dumps windows not showing, try the Romstar version of Arknoid: Revenge of Doh. If it still does that you need to chage the Show dos box setting to Auto

I'm not near my MAME cabinet right now but I remember having to make an individual .ini file for llander that forced the DOS box to either AUTO or 1 in order for the game to work properly.

Just set auto dos box all the time for MAME - that is the point of it.  Daemen is right, sounds like there are bad dumps for that game.

I had so many problems getting Mamewah to play nice on my Win98 system last year and turning off the auto dos box was part of the eventual fix.

Not sure why that should be, although it will certainly slow launching down slightly.  Not enough to be very noticable though, as a rule.
