Question about Tubes + monitor boards

Just recently I had to send my monitor board off to be serviced. It will be a few weeks before it can be looked at but I was informed that a known problem is that some places here in N.Z mismatch tubes with monitor boards.
This got me wondering if this is the case with my setup. I only had my monitor and tube running for a week before the image collaped into a bright horizontal line. At the moment I put this down to it being a second hand board but I do have to wonder if a mismatch could of caused the above problem.

From what I can gather looking at links on this discussion site the board I have is a Kortek suitable for a 26" tube. My question is. Would this be all 26" tubes or certain makes?

I've included a picture of the only label on my tube. I'm not sure if this could help identify it or not. If it does, will it be fine in the long run or will I need to look at getting another board.

Only certain tubes can go with certain boards (chassis) in order to tell you have to read the vertical ohms of the original tube and compare it to the vertical ohms of the new tube--this is a very technical discussion but suffice it to say your tube and chassis have to be meant for each other.  if they're not you can fry the chassis.  In your case you had a vertical deflection failure which isn't too uncommon so I doubt that someone swapped your tube for a bad one.  Then again anything is possible.

It's the yoke attached to the tube that you need to check for correct resistance/impedance. Generally, Kortek monitor chassis can work with a variety of tubes if the yoke is within the specs of the chassis requirements.

Yours might may a bad solder joint, maybe even the yoke connector was not plugged all the way in (or worked loose when the monitor was shipped to you).
