I have a Ensoniq Audio PCI (1371 chipset) that works great in DOS with AndvanceMame.   (I'm using the drivers from Easymamecab).

But every time I start windows, it changes my "SET BLASTER" and the other line (something like SNDSCAPE=C:\WINDOWS),) to something else that causes sound not to work in pure DOS anymore.

I tried uninstalling windows drivers and letting them reinstall, no luck.

Any ideas?
