Best way to update romsets?
« on: February 07, 2005, 01:06:22 pm »
I'm grabbed mame and the complete romset back at version .80 or around there.  Now I want to update to the newest version.  What's the best way to go about doing that?  I'd rather not download 10 gigs again, when 99.9% of the roms didn't even change.

TIA!

You can use ClrMAME to handle name changes.  Getting the changed ROMs themselves is another story (and one we don't discuss on this board.)

I have no problems getting the new roms... but where can I find out what ones I need?  When I update mame to the new version I can use CLRMame to see which roms I need to get?

I find it hard to believe every time mame is updated I need to get a new 10 gig set GGKoul.

ClrMAME has a tool called "rebuilder" which is what you need.
