Newbie Emulator Help Please
« on: October 20, 2002, 12:16:59 pm »
Hello all,

I'm using MAMEWAH as a front end for MAME and also other emulators like FCE Ultra for NES and Gens for Sega Genesis.

In FCE and Gens, is there anyway to set the ESC key to exit the video game and return to MAMEWAH like MAME does?  If not, can you recommend any emulators that do work like that?

Or -- Is there a way to program an IPAC to send an ALT+F4 to close the emulator?

Thanks in advance!

Minwah

You could try using Howard's commandline wrapper.

I could not get the wrapper to work with Gens under Win98 for 'quitting with the escape key'.  I've just tried it in XP, and it works (by pressing esc twice, once just makes Gens lose focus).  Although it seems to create a problem whereby the taskbar flashes merged with the Gens screen (see pic at http://mamewah.mameworld.net/wrapper.gif).

Any ideas Howard?
