Mame32 - save state single button ?
« on: October 20, 2002, 02:52:47 am »
Is there a way to quick save from a single button (and quick load from a different one)

Yes, start a game, hit tab, goto input general.  Change the save state.

I took a quick look at this about 6 months ago and didn't get any good replies.  I was hoping for 2 buttons on my cabinet for save and load (only one slot).  But I gave up (I asked back then and no good answers).

Since I'm compiling my own, I might take another look.  I really want to start a website for mame modifications with little fixes/changes that are useful.

If you find an answer, please let everyone know

I set up save state = "U" and load state ="L shift U".  It works "sort of".  I tested it with 3 games.  Ladybug, Congo Bongo, and Popeye.  It saved a game and reloaded the saved game.  When i tried to reload a saved game from Popeye, it loaded but most of the graphics were gone.  I could continue to play but all the steps were gone.  The Ladybug and Congo Bongo loaded just fine.
What is that pappy?

Weird.  Anyway, I have F5 and F6 as load and save on my cabinet.

You have single button load and save working?  Do you need to press the location (by pressing start 1?)

I will take another look..  I would LOVE to add them to my cabinet!

Yeah, I have no problem with them mapped to F5 and F6.  Note, can;t map to F7 as I have an IPAC.
