Connect computer to HDTV set using a RGBHV input
« on: January 30, 2005, 06:57:43 pm »
Hello everybody,

I am trying to connect my computer PC to my TV HDTV rear projector.

I have already spent many hours to adjust the timing values in PowerStrip software and the picture it still not clear. I have already tried some standards but they don't work. The only fair picture I have is 640x480. So now I have enough to Powerstrip and I need help. (PS: I have already read some guide about Powerstrip setup)

So now I am asking:

1) Can somebody provide some good timing values in PowerStrip for my TV?

2) Can somebody come to my home (Iowa, Quad Cities) to setup this adjustment?

3) If not, what kind of external hardware I need to make this connection?

If 640x480 is working for you and other resolutions do not, it appears your TV cannot sync to resolutions and timings outside the HDTV specs. From the manual:

I was pursuing this a few months ago and realized I had a video out on my laptop.  I hooked this up to the 55" widescreen and it's GREAT!  So much so that I haven't had time to build my cabinet yet since I am playing so much.  I use stretch mode that only slightly extends horizontal games which I really don't even notice and the vertical games are perfect.   I wouldn't be able to do this in HDTV since there is no capability to stretch plus the grey sidebars are annoying.

I don't think the 1080i would really buy much with all of these low-res games anyway.  Throw in a stereo connection to the main stereo with a sub and a SlikStik on my coffee table and you can understand why I have a hard time making it to work.
