Nice job, it looks great (especially for a cab that could have been landfill)

Neat wiring in there too!

Is this the machine from Albury? I was interested in the auction as I live in Albury, but I knew it would be dead and I didn't want to build another cocktail mame cab (how tight are they inside for parts!). + I thought the final price was a little high.

Is it just running Jatre Spectre only?

Thanks!

Yep, this was the one from Albury I bought from ebay.  You're right, the final price was too high, especially when it arrive with a broken leg and I had to get two new ones made.

I've got it running Space Invaders Part II only, it reminds me of 1980 at university ('going through a mid-life crisis I think!).  I'm just starting another one from scratch which will be a multi-game and jukebox machine.  I'll keep you posted.

Your cab is a good example of when MAME is a better option than a restore.

I like the CP artwork, is that original? It scrubbed up nicely.

You finished it in good time. I started my cab back in March last year, nearly finished, but now I'm at a standstill while I work out a new top and sides to the CPs.

I'll probably be rebuilding the player 2 side without the trackball this time :( Due to the <auto-censored> angle it doesn't work properly... plus I'd have to add in more start buttons on player 2 side... plus you have to read the menu on one side of the cab, then go around and use the t'ball... it just ruins the fun and the extra start buttons won't look real good. I should have limited myself at the beginning :( I wanted too much

Yes

I'm glad I kept mine simple, I would never have finished if I'd made it too complex!  I'll be a bit braver on my second one though.

Hi Chablis97, your Jatre cab looks superb. And I thought I was doing such a good job on mine too :) I've got the same Jatre cab, except mine originally had a 12" B&W monitor and has black/blue CPO's (like the one on KLOV). I had to MAME mine as it had no innards. Gave up trying to shoehorn a CRT monitor in it though and instead found a cheap second hand TFT (with a reasonable response time thankfully). Bit a long shot here, but I dont suppose you still have the Jatre Spectre under glass instruction cards for it. I would love a scan of these so that I can restore it. Otherwise I'm going to have to use 'Space Invader ones. Thanks.
