Just got an EmDKay marquee (comparison shots etc.)

Technically I got this quite some time ago (to replace my old one), but I've just finished moving/getting internet access again etc.

Anyhow, I didn't get a chance to show this off beforehand.

Unlit
Top = old one, Bottom = EmDKay


Lit
Right = EmDKay


Though that's direct sunlight, it really does give an accurate representation of the difference when backlit (I don't have a pic of it installed, but that's what they look like).

Major differences: EmDKay marquee does not appreciably wash out when backlit, is much closer to source file's color (particularly in areas of darker blue), and does not suffer from the extreme color banding in areas of gradation that the other one does.

I didn't start the thread to bash a company (left off the name and everything). Just wanted to say that I was very happy with EmDKay's service and print quality. Would those that mentioned the other company's name be willing to edit it out?

Well, I don't think you were bashing... I think we understand the context of what you were trying to do, but a fact is a fact, and the one on the left is an advertising for low quality. I think it's a fair assessment to say that it's just not good.

I had a CPO printed through Classicarcadegraphics, and it is excellent. I've heard many less than good things said about them since. Perhaps the major portion of their quality issues are with translucent materials? I don't know.
