Anyone using PyRecade as their fontend?

Anyone here want to share their experience with it?  I'm looking at modifying it to my liking.

Thanks,
Mordy

Do I count?  Probably not eh...  Most folks here aren't Linux users and while pyReCADE does run under Windows there are plenty of alternatives.  I suspect if I actually got off ---my bottom--- and made a real release (including Windows binaries), there would be more people using it, but right now the few folks I know that do use just stumbled upon it like you did.  I'm very open to other people adding features, etc so please don't just go modifying for your own use if there's something usefull that other people will get out of it.  Toss me some patches and if they look good then I'll be more than happy to give you CVS access.

I just want to say that this "runs" under macosx, I t will not seem to generate a rom list though.  I'm using sdlmame.  Is it still xmame only, if it is "grow-up." SDL-MAME is way better than XMAME.  I have been using xmamegui (A jave FE for SDL-MAME) but it aint cabneit freindly, please help

I don't think that has been updated in quite a few years, and MAME's has gone through quite a few changes in outputting it's information.  But I could be wrong, about it's status.

You could try WahCade.  It's python based as well.  There are also a couple more that I forget.  The topic has come up a few times on the SDLMAME board if you want to take a look over there and I think Arbee posted a recent list in a thread here just a week or two ago.

When I started building my first cab, I was experimenting with Linux... It was all new to me, and I was using Mandrake 9 (which was also new) at the time. Had there been more support, I probably would have pushed a little further to learn, but as it was, all the good front ends were for Windows and it was one more hurdle in the way of completing my project.

I say if you have a Linux front end, by all means get the info out there. I'd be willing to try again. I've been checking in on the other Linux stuff from time to time.

Bumpity bump.

Sorry for digging up old posts. If anyone has done anything with pyrecade recently, pls post!

I'm interested and the old screenies look cool, but haven't yet had time to muck about to get things working on the framebuffer.
Shut up! Bloody Vikings!!
