MAMEWAH/IPAC/MAME controlls config help needed
« on: January 12, 2005, 09:41:34 pm »
Thanks for reading this post and trying to help me out.

Was running MAMEWAH/IPAC/MAME in my cab for a long time successfully.

I recently purchased a PC at the local SWAP meet, its:
PIII 800
14 Gig HD
128 RAM
Video Card
ect.

I installed XP
Set up Mamewah/IPAC/MAME
I've got it up and running but a couple of config. issues I'm hoping for help with:

1. before when I pressed player 1 and player 2 buttons simultaniously the game would exit to the Mamewah homescreen, now there is no response when I press them both together, I have to use my keyboard and press esc.  (guessing I just don't recall how to set-up the IpAc corrently, it's been awhile)

2. I have two buttons where a coindoor would normally be located (budget was an issue when I made the machine).   Before when I the other PC running the machine I could press the coin1 button and load a credit, same with the coin2 button.   Both are wired to my IPAc in the correct coin1 and coin2 locations.  (Again, probably just not setting up my IPAC software correctly is my guess, but I've tried a bunch of things with no luck)

3. My screen resolution is off a bit.  When I load up street fighter alpha zero, the game play is OK, but the game screen is on the far left siide of my monitor screen, with a black gap on the right side, the top and bottom of the screen also have black bars.  Any suggestions here?>  Galaga seemed to be fine though.

Thanks in advance guys!

Normally '1' is the IPAC shift key, and '1'+'2' = Escape.  Make sure you hold '1' down before pressing '2'.  Also, make sure the IPAC settings jumper (assuming you have a version with the jumper) is set to MAME to use default settings.

Press the buttons in notepad or something, and see what appears.  By default they should be set to '5' and '6'.  Then go into MAME and hit Tab > Input (General) and make sure P1 Coin & P2 Coin are set accordingly.
