H-sync/V-sync/Composite + JPAC .. ARG!!!
« on: January 12, 2005, 09:12:15 pm »
According to Ultimarc's web site, the JPAC has:

"Sync circuitry also converts separate horizontal and vertical syncs into composite sync. Can handle both positive and negative vertical sync."

Yet on this thread:

Andy wrote:

"if the VGA card (any card not just the ArcadeVGA) is connected to the monitor via a cable which connects the H and V syncs together, the gun will not work. This does not affect the J-PAC conenction as the J-PAC does not connect the syncs together. It means a hand-wired cable must be connected to separate H and V syncs on the monitor"

A local arcade repair guy suggestion that I feed separate Vsync and Hsync from my ArcadeVGA card to the WG K7000 series monitor to get rid of a small problem its having.

I've also ready here that the K7000 doesn't need a video amp to have a stable signal.

so what's the deal? Should I make a separate video cable to connect the ArcadeVGA to the monitor, is there something I can do on the JPAC to output separate sync?

What have people done in the past? where can I find info on how to make this cable?
