Game rooms, online gaming (Everquest, anyone  :o ), chat rooms, forums, downloading movies/music....cripes, there's TONS on the Internet to keep someone on all day long. 

It's getting so you can do whatever you want to not have to leave the house!  Great for shut-ins, but to CREATE shut-ins?  Not so good.

What did it say? 38 hours or more per week is a sign of addicition?

That's like 5-1/2 hours per day. Weekend nights are high use for me and would push me over the quoted time easily.

If I become like subzero I will eat my modem.

well i browse the web pretty much all day at work, plus when i get home at night from doin whatever, usually a few hours before bed... yeah im not addicted...  ::)

I too spent alot of my free time online. Usually though it on pursuit of info on my myriad of other time and money wasting hobbies tho!  ;D

I think the "addicition" part is more "obsession" in this fellas case.  :-\
