ATI radeon overscan? fix with zoom? running diagonal lines on tv?

i REALLY didn't want to start a new thread on this, but I guess I have to.

I have a thread in this forum about a black bar on the bottom of my tv when using a Radeon 9200 S-Vid out. This is normal, but if I can, I'd like to get it to go away...I used the overscan option, but it REALLY overscaned it. Someone in my thread said I could fix this problem by using "zoom 0", I don't know what that is, or where to find it. Anyone?

Also, the TV out on my TV has faint running diagonal lines, which get worse if I put in a video RCA jack from a playstation to the other set of inputs. thats fine, because I don't need them both in at the same time, but what is causing these lines? Some sort of interference?

I ran into both of these problems when first hooking up my ATI card to my monitor.

1. ATI has a built-in control panel that should let you move the TV position in any direction to get rid of the black bar.
     
2. I had an interference like yours and let it bothered me but I thought it was just poor video output quality. I found out I had my sound jacks hooked up inproperly for example if you hook your wire up to "mic" instead of "input". Try messing around with your your sound wires

Thanks for the post! The option to move your screen in the panel does not get rid of the black bar, it simply moves in down and below it, er, the black bar stays, but the picture doesn't.

When I use overscan, it's to much, and it won't let me alter any screen size controls after that.

I also have this black bar problem...  have you been able to figure out how to fix it?

Nah. but he's right, it just isn't that big of a deal. I mean, if it bothered me to the brink of insanity, I would do something about it, but No one even notices it until I point it out.

Like he said, overscaning fixes the problem, but you get some screen that you can't view.

Ok, I'm bringing this back because it's REALLY bugging me now.

I am using my computer to go to a LCD panel to project to a big screen.

When there is alot of white, or you get close, their is STILL these running diagonal lines going thru the picture! No matter what outlet I use! I've heard people say it's a grounding problem, but I'm pretty sure this isn't, I might have to move some cables around or move some other stuff to see if that might interfere it. I guess it's a weekness (but not caused by) the ATI radeon chipset? I'm running a 9200SE.
