ATI video out, black bar across the bottom???
« on: January 08, 2005, 03:26:36 am »
I got my new setup working, but when I hooked my s-vid out from my 9200se to my TV, the bottom of the screen is black. This is the fault of the card, or something to do with the card, and not MAME. My TV is a flat screen, is this just what happens on flat screens? This is my first time using a flat screen, so I wouldn't know...

Other then that, it looks fine! I hope there is just something I'm missing.

That's normal.  By default, they shrink the picture to fit your desktop within the visible region of the screen.

You can get rid of it by enabling overscan, which I do on all my PVRs, but it never seemed relevent to the MAME box.  It's in the more recent catalyst driver version, buried in the tv tabs with the positioning controls.  If you enable it, you will find parts of some games landing offscreen in the overscan region.  You can compensate for that with zoom 0?, but it's easier just to leave overscan turned off in this application.

Ah! Thanks!

Yes, I hit overscan, but it made it overscan to much for my tastes, but thanks for the info, and if your the real lusid, your site made me start on my whole MAME machine project! Thanks.

I hate to sound stupid, but where is "zoom 0?"

I can't find it anywhere.
