maximum arcade VS Omnicade
« on: January 07, 2005, 05:22:32 am »
Hi i am now looking for a good front end for my cab as i will soon be building the pc for it. i know of Omnicade, installed it but couldnt get it to load, i went to its folder and all it had were emulators in their own folders no omnicade.exe, so i have no idea if its anygood...
i also looked at maximum arcade, seemed fairly high quality (comes at a price though  :'( ) but couldnt get it to see my emulators, though i only played with it for a couple of minutes on my PC that will no be used, so i didnt delve to deep.
what i am wondering is if there are nay other's like these out there, and yes i want ones that load consol emus as well as just mame, so stuff like mamewah seems out of the question  :-\
and also has anyone had much experience with any of these? and which do you reckon is better (leaving the price issue out of it)

also i just came accross 3D-arcade which looks cool, but as they say it needs a 1+ghz PC does this mean its bulkiness will affect game speeds? or is it only need the power when your in the frontend?

i also forgot to mention if the front end can launch stepmania that would be cool, because that thing is SOOOO addictive lol

If you haven't decided on a front end yet go here:

http://www.mameworld.net/

In the left hand margin (about a third of the way down) is a pretty thorough list of front ends. Try them and find one you like.

Good Luck,
John
