not bad at all but i'm confused with players 1 and 4--are they to stand at right angles to the monitor?  the joysticks look angled slightly but the buttons look completely turned--maybe its just the photo
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

They stand at 45 degree angles. It looks kind of weird but it works.

I was going to chop of the corners of the cp but didn't want this to affect my pinball flippers.

I may rebuild the cp in a few months time, now that I've got better with me tools.

Thanks.

The name came from one of my girlfriends daughters, who kept asking when "the machine" would be finished.

So I kept hearing this and though yeah that's what I'll call it!

Looks good. Just curious... Why did you mount the T-Sticks on top of the cp?

Looks sharp!  Is it a UA2 design?  What's the profile look like?

I mounted them on top to get more stick height.

When I'm playing I like to be able to change my grip on a joystick. Sometimes i like to push and pull the shaft and other times (depends on the game or section of a game) I like to grab the pear top.

The design is from scratch. I've got a load of pics at my site

http://www.geocities.com/hurraybanana/construction.htm
http://www.geocities.com/hurraybanana/cabinet.htm

I haven't got a direct profile shot at the mo (don't know why I didn't take one!)

I sort of sketched it from what I thought the shape of the machine should look like. I made several changes when I actually started laying my measurements out onto my plywood, so it's not exactly like my scale drawing.

Thanks for the comment
Cheers Eric

Very different, very nice.  You can tell when a project has been planned out and someone took their time to do a good job.  I like it!  Well done.

What's that little Pac Man model in some of your pics (next to the Mario beanies)?  Where'd ya get it?

Thanks nice comment.

The pac man model is what sort of started me off. They are scale scans from called paper arcade. There is a website devoted to them follow this link

http://www.wayoftherodent.com/pa/pa_staff.htm

They print to a single sheet of A4 and you fold em and glue em. They are pretty cool.

They've added som new ones recently like Dragon's Lair. Let me know what you think.

I love what you did with mounting of  the T-Sticks!  It looks like they are supposed to be mounted that way.  8)
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Thanks.

It would be good if you could make a mounting plate like the ones used for trackballs.

If I was any good at welding then I'd probably have a go at this.

I was a bit dubious of my idea when I cut the plastic and painted it with Humbrol. But I actually like the effect it makes up for not being able to get green and orange pear tops for the t-sticks.
