Running Mamewah in Windowed Mode
« on: January 03, 2005, 05:14:27 pm »
Is it possible?  I'd like to configure my arcade cab software remotely from another computer.  In order to do so, I need to run Mamewah in windowed mode.  Thanks in Advance!

Not sure exactly if it's what you want, but technically MW is always running in a window - just the window title, borders, min/max buttons etc. are hidden ;)

technically speaking, any windows application running without borders is called fullscreen

I still say it is running in a Window, albeit a maximised one.  It is not rendered in fullscreen as say a DX app would be.

You will get no further response at the MW board, since I am the author afterall.

Basically the answer is no, you cannot run in anything other than fullscreen...does that count as a useless answer?  :P

Use CTRL+ALT+BREAK to switch back and forth in an RDP session...not sure if that's what you wanted though.

Crazy question, but why does it need to be in a windowed mode? The reason I ask is that I administrate several of my cabs remotely using RADMIN and have zero issues. It can display the host computer in either a windowed mode or full screen (ALT+F12). I know this isn't an answer to your question and you may qualify it as useless, but hope it helps none the less and any response may help us understand why you want / need the windowed mode of MAMEWAH.

RAdmin is deffo one of the best.  Used to use VNC, but had no end of probs with it for some reason.  Also, don't bother using anything like PC Anywhere, its a pile of bloatware crap.  M$ RDP remains the best though IMO... and its gratis - my fav price!
