MAME CONTENT MANAGER problem....
« on: January 02, 2005, 08:38:07 pm »
Hi all, been a while since i posted, but here goes.
I recently updated my MAME32 with all the most current roms and when i went to use the MAME CONTENT manger , it just keeps wigging out on me.
I click on the locations for both the mame32 folder and then the location for of the CATVER.INI file (which i converted to the mame32 format) and when i click on NEXT  it just freezes and says NOT RESPONDING.  I let it go for a while just to see if it would come out of the not responding state, but it never does.
Does this program not work now?
I am using WINDOWS XP with all latest patches and updates and am starting to wonder if something isn't conflicting somewhere.
If anyone can help with this issue, i would GREATLY appreciate it.
I would also be interested if anyone knows any other programs that may exist that would allow you to filter roms and delete or move them to another directory other than mame.   I need to filter out adult roms and i would also like to filter out alot of the junk roms (to me they are junk at least lol) like mahjong and the like.

thanks ,
Groovy~

I am no expert, but I do know of two:

* Clrmamepro: http://www.clrmame.com/
* Romcenter: http://www.romcenter.com/

As I hear clrmamepro is more popular, but Romcenter is more userfriendly. Good luck!
