Pic of my cabinet & a question
« on: January 01, 2005, 07:45:39 pm »
I'll start with the question ... certain games aren't saving the high score.  Donkey Kong (dkong) is one of them.  I have checked that "hi" exists under my MAME directory and that it is referenced in the .ini file.  Any ideas on how to correct this?

Now, my picture ... built this as a Christmas present for my kids:

It's roughly a LuSiD cabinet, but with a J-LO backside ;)  The control panel is from Jakobud.  Modified the depth of the CP cut in on the cabinet and the height to match Jakobud's design.  It's modified enough ... we'll just call it the "dot cabinet."

Nope.  I'll search for that now ...

That fixed it.  Thanks!  Slowly, but surely all the little tweaks are coming together.

I have the hiscore.dat file and Pac Man with the speedup hack will not save high scores. Every other version of Pac Man will. Any ideas?

Use the regular pac-man and set the 2x speed in the options menu (tab key and then it's under the dipswitches menu).

That is not the same. When you do that it speeds up the entire game(Ghost included). The speedup hack clone only speeds up Pac Man.
