Try using a copy of advcab and see if you get a stable dos pic.

I had problems with arcadeos output before and used advmenu instead.

If the chassis in your monitor is the same or similar to the one on my 34" Sharp Image monitor, make sure you have the sync going to the right pin on the chassis. I had almost the same symptoms you're describing until I moved the sync wire to right next to the ground wire instead of one away.

You sir are a steely eyed missle man!  Troubleshooting 101 - check the physical layer.  I had my HS and VS wires discombobulated.  I am staring at a beautiful image on the screen.

Can't thank you enough!

- Now just an ever-so-slight glow in the neck and a tich of discoloration at the very far right border at the middle of the screen.  Not even noticable really, I will go with it for now but see if the SI techs have any suggestions.

Wife is out all day tommorow WITH the nipper.  I will be playing Defender by this time tommorow!

I'm glad it worked out for you. I messed around with mine for a few hours before I finally figured that out on my own.

The glow you're seeing in the neck of the tube is normal. That's the heater that warms the electron guns so they work properly.
