For you folk who might be running Win2K/XP, check out DOSBox:

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/

You might need it to run some of the eariler DOS-only games properly.  It emulates a DOS/i386 environment very nicely.

If you're interested in any of the lucasarts adventure games (Sam and Max, Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island(s), Space Quest(s), etc) then check out ScummVM:

http://www.scummvm.org/

Two very useful utiltiies for any retro PC-gaming fans.

Not all games need either utilties.  But they can help with those particulary stuboorn games out there, or better yet if you want to hear what the old classics sounded like through GUS (Gravis Ultra Sound) and other awesome wavetable cards of old.

DOSBox is also great for anyone who wants to play the oldschool pre-win 64K competition demos!  Again, get a load of them using GUS emulation, and give your ears a party. :)
