Xbox + arcade monitor, can it work?

Hi i am thinking of buying a cab to mod an make into a mame cab but i dont know much about running an xbox through an arcade monitor, is it possible and what are the downsides? (if any)
i would like to be able to play emu's and xbox games if that info helps :)

I have my XBOX running off a Wells Gardner Arcade Monitor using an X2VGA adapter and it works fantastic!
