XBOX RESTART QUESTION...
« on: December 18, 2004, 08:18:28 pm »
I have my XBOX setup in my Arcade Cabinet and everything is on a powerstrip.  When I power on the strip everything goes on except the xbox which in turn requires me to open up my coin door and physically power it up.  Is there a way to have my xbox turn on when I turn on my powerstrip eliminating the need for me to power it on everytime?

Also once I am actually in a game is there a way to quit to my EVO-X dashboard without physically powering down the xbox and then powering it up again?  I really hate to constantly power it down all the time does some kind of controller button combination achieve this?

I have an XBOX 1.6 with a Xenium Ice Chip and EVO-X.  Thanks for any help you could give me.

You can permanently connect the power button to ground by either somehow holding the button in the pressed position or by connecting the two wires inside the console itself.

This does work with the xbox although I am unaware of any long term effects this may or may not have on your hardware!
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I forget if the in game reset (IGR) is a part of my modchip, dashboard, or what, but for my xbox (Xecuter chip, EvoX dash) the button combination of L,R,Black, and Back exits back to my dash.

Again, I can't recall what is making that possible, but your system may have a similar option.

Both are correct in most IGRs.  You use start and back on the big duke controller (where they're both in the middle) or start and black on the S controller.

IGR is built-in to most bioses, and some dashboards (although it usually needs to be turned off in the dashboard to keep it from screwing up many games.

yeah, I was under the impression both worked, but with the S controller (the only controller worth using on the Xbox heh) it's much easier to hit black and start, at least to me.

dskillz1 - Glad I could help haha. Enjoy
