Monitor jarred now it doesnt work
« on: December 18, 2004, 06:55:59 pm »
I had a perfectly good working Samsung tube inside a Kortek(sp?) chasis.  The cabinet that it was in fell while unpluged.  The monitor didnt move when the cabinet fell but now the monitor does not work.  It is completely black.  No humming.  No color.  Nothing.  It is almost like a fuse fell out but I looked and they seem fine.  Can anyone give someone who is a monitor newbie an idea of what might be wrong or what I can check.  Thanks

Check for 120 volts ac power getting to the monitor's power connector. If no power there then a cabinet fuse has blown or a conector has pulled loose. If power is getting to the monitor's power connector then it's possible that there's a crack or cracks in the circuit board. Electronic components do not like that kind of jarring around. You might need to take this monitor to a professional for a checkup.

I checked it out and there was a fuse blown.  I replaced the fuse and it blew again right away.  I then examined the board and found a small crack in it.  I brought it to a professional to see what he could do.  Thanks for the help.
