Switching Windows 98SE to Low Resolutions

I've read the FAQs and did searches, but I haven't found a working solution.

I'm running an arcade monitor with ArcadeVGA under Win98SE. I want to be able to switch between 640x480 and lower resolutions (e.g., 640x288, 321x240). Ideally, I'd like to be able to do with with a tool similar to Quickres (tho Quickres doesn't work with 98SE).

I enabled the Win98 settings icon which allows one to switch resolutions, but it only shows resolutions 640x480 and greater. How can I add the other res's to this? I tried the suggestion someone else posted about changing adding these other res's to some registry entries, but this did not add these to the selection list.

I was only able to get Windows into the lower res's by running MameWah's ArcadeVGA Res Tool, and then breaking out of the tool when it was running a low res game. This left Windows in a lower res, and I would return to this low res even after a reboot. But, if a program puts me back to the high res, or I need to go to the high res to run something else, I can't get back to the low res except by fiddling with the Res tool again.

So, how can I get the lower res's to appear on the selection list for the taskbar icon? Or is there some other simple way to get into the low res's?

QuickRes doesn't work in 98SE?   I thought it did.

I haven't tried it, but perhaps "multires" will work for you.

The subset of all the available resolutions of the ArcadeVGA which are shown by the "blue monitor" icon are in the registry. If you drop me an email I can supply more details. The only reason I did not put them all there in the first place was that I did not see any reason why anyone would want to switch to the low resolutions except when playing a game.

It's to run the U64Emu emulator. This emulator allows me to select either 640x480 res or 320x200. 640x480 isn't the best for the arcade monitor. And when Windows is at a higher res than 320x200, the emulator displays the game at smaller than full screen (even if I select the fullscreen option). So I want to put Windows into 320x200 mode before running the emulator. The emulation of Killer Instinct by U64Emu is faster for me than MAME is.

That should have been 320x240, not 320x200.
