Suncoast Video, customer service.
« on: December 09, 2004, 01:34:49 am »
Ok, I walk into a local suncoast, and find the last on sale Capcom Cammy figure (a repaint made only for suncoast). I thought this was awesome, and asked if they had anymore, they said no, and I asked if maybe they could order one, again, no (I was in shock).... Ok, thats fine.  I go to the Suncoast website, now, take in mind that Suncoast is in most areas the only cool figure seller around, and alot of figures get made only for sale at suncoast, so they obviously make some money doing this.

The website has nothing, nada, ziltch.

I email them, asking if there was another website with a different name or something I was missing, or if they knew where I could see what they have, or buy online.

I sent this "You
gotta be KIDDING. Chirstmas right around the corner, your a company that
gets some CUSTOM MADE figures from companys, and you guys don't have
them on the site?!?!?"

And get this in responce.
"Dear ,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your order
recently placed with Suncoast.com.

At this time, we do not sell accessory items, toys, posters, T-shirts
etc. on our online store.  Only prerecorded music and movies are
available for sale.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

Sincerely,
Robert Marowits
Suncoast.com
Customer Service"

I guess Robert Marowits was rasied by automatic replys, because this sure sounds alot like one! I like how I was called "Dear,,,,,...." then nothing. Genius.

Why do companys do this? Hell, I could have lived with a "Sorry, can only get them from stores" from a HUMAN. A little effort goes a long way. I know they are busy, but I've emailed MUCH larger companys and have gotton a human reply.

This, on top of the fact those idiots don't sell their figures online and don't let people order them kinda made me wonder why they even sell them in the first place! I know some people only go to suncoast to look at the new figures!

Why any company would do something this stupid is beyond me.

It likley was your confrontational opening in your e-mail--if i got a letter starting with "you got to be KIDDING" i would either stop reading or send you a form letter.--why would a human take the time and energy to respond to hostility ???
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

More likely that corporate legal has put together a set of form replies so that a CSR doesn't get the company in trouble by saying something they shouldn't.

I didn't quote all of it, it was on the funny side. After I said.

"insane,,, INSANE I SAY! (You wouldn't happen to know where I could find them on your site, do you?"

Did I mention that I in no way ordered from them?

If you bought them at full price when they were released you'd have your choice of figures, instead you wait until they are on sale and you get stuck with the last one.  Then you

The job of customer service is to do what they reasonably can to help you.  Since there was nothing they could do but tell you that the items are not available on their site, sounds to me like they did their job.

I'm sure they get the same question 1000 times a day, from people who can't take a hint from the fact that the product doesn't appear on the site.  I don't blame them for making the process faster by using form letters.  If they had something useful to say that might help with your specific situation, then you probably would have gotten a human response.

I recommend visiting another Suncoast location (there's one in just about any mall in the US.)

Dear Tritoch84,

You're too old to be playing with dolls.

Just teasing you. I permanently damaged my soul when I lined all my Matchbox cars across the street so they'd get run over.  ;)
