Updated: GameEx 2.58 Released

I've been running a number of different front ends on my cab over the last year, and haven't really found one that "Clicked" with me fully. Then, I ran across GameEx from http://www.tomspeirs.com/gameex/
again recently, and I have to say, this FE has really grown up in the last couple of months!

Heres what the Author has to say about it:

GameEx is a graphical DirectX based front-end for MAME, Zinc, Daphne, PC Games, and all command line based emulators. Specifically for use on Windows XP Media Center and Arcade Cabinets. It will run on Windows 98, ME, 2000, and XP. It has support for Ultimarcs J-PAC and ArcadeVGA, the MCE remote control, Gamepads, full Mouse control, Widescreen displays, volume control, Music playlists (ogg, mp3, wma), has a fully functional Jukebox, and should work with HotRod and X-Arcade Joysticks, and now also SlikStik Joysticks. It has support for playing MAME game videos for the selected game while navigating the lists. GameEx also features a multi process based attract mode, that keeps launching different games.

I had it set up in a matter of minutes, and have had no problems with it at all as of yet. There are advancements and updates comming just about every other day, and its looking to me like its going to be one of the nicest FE's out there.

Ya. I was using arcade OS before but I switched over to Game Ex. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't really have a skinning system.... but that didn't stop me. MUHAHAHAHA.
I miss Retroblast :(

Tom's been at it again, V2.58 released today, and probably a new version tomorrow, but a bunch of added features:

Now supports Mouse Wheel, for scrolling list.
Quicker Startup.
Now supports ICONS. Tested with MAMu's ICONS, and looks pretty good.
New setting added MAMEAudioMode. This controls sound and music when playing a MAME game. You can now play your playlist or Jukebox music while playing MAME.
Better memory handling for images.

Itts getting hard to keep up with all the updates, I'm still a version behind, and every time I get current, theirs a new version out...
Its getting better and better every day.

I loaded this on my machine last night.  It works great.  It has an option in the .ini to specify that you're using an arcade monitor.
