CHRO-MAME
« on: December 04, 2004, 11:10:37 pm »
I submitted this finished project about two days ago to the main page, but it hasn't appeared yet (likely they're back-logged).  No problem though, I'll just post it here.  ;)  A few people on this forum helped me answer some questions over a year ago about the monitor I bought (Wells Gardner D9200 - 27"), and I wish to thank them for that.  Err, I don't have any names (I could look them up, but I have seemed to have lost my old forum account which didn't have more than 4 or 5 postings), but it's the thought that counts, right?  :D

What makes CHRO-MAME unique is that it can be taken apart and put back together, completely (for easy transportation).  The website really explains the story of it all, so I'll stop boring you.  Enjoy!

Nice job. Are those Sony XPlod's or other speakers?

You better take the keys out or your quaters might be pinched :D

Completely unintentional.  The light is mounted right above the speakers, and it shines right through the red plastic making it glow like that.  At first I was a little mad, but quickly grew to like it after turning the lights out.  :D

Do you mean the control panel or the marquee (the backlit sign that says "CHRO-MAME")?

It is a wood panel with lexan over it to make it shine like that.

Bingo.  Making it wasn't too hard either.  After cutting out all of the holes for the wood panel, I screwed a big sheet of Lexan over the wood.  It was shaped using a router with a stopper, and using the same drill bit that was used on the button holes to cut the Lexan.

beautiful cab....great job.

why bother giving it the ability to come apart? do you plan on moving it often?

Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?
