I'm trying to hook up a K4600 chassis to a "new" tube/yoke. Before I apply power to the thing, I'd like to get the following questions answered:
1. The K4600 manual seems to show some kind of wire or jumper attached to the vertical and horizontal raster position adjustments. My chassis has nothing connected here. Is this correct?
2. Where is the connection for the tube degausser?
3. There is a coil connected at L606 that is just hanging there. Whatever the coil was mounted to is not obvious to me, but it does have the two wires connected. Also, the end of the tube that the coil is made on is crushed. Is any of this a problem?
4. In another thread, MonitorGuru talked about locating the "yoke wire." Is he refering to the four wires for the vertical and horizontal windings? If not, can someone give me more detail on what this yoke wire is? I don't want to miss it.
5. Speaking of the vert/horiz windings. I understand that as long as I keep the horizontal and vertical hooked up to the right pair of connections, I'm good. If the two wire in a pair or reversed, the image could just be reversed.
6. I'd like to deal with 1-5 above and power this thing up without giving it any kind of signal. Is that a problem? I don't want to plug anyting into it that I don't have to for the smoke test.
Thanks!
