Help me if you can with this TV (link) I bought at Best Buy today.....PLEASE

OMG-AHHHHHG! Ok thats a little better.

I bought a http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1083714246463&skuId=6716208&type=product TV at Best Buy today and can not get my S-video output to work. 
Ok I have lots of experience with s-video output so rule out newbi.   As you can see in the link it is a RCA input TV.  It was the only one that was the correct size without removing all the plastic, plus it was  $150 and all other tvs they had were at least $250.  So I got no selection, but it seemed the size was right, (and man it fit's like a dream!!)

I have been using my laptop for a while to "test" my control panel and cab with it's s-video output.  It is a Dell that detects a s-video conection and a monitor as a plug and play.  You can not even choose "TV output" untill you plug in a vaild/powered s-video signal.  I found this out by traveling with it and a RF converter for the RCA  jacks.  Since a RF converter doesn't send power untill it gets a signal from the device (vcr, game, ect) and my laptop won't allow you to choose "TV output" untill it sees the signal they don't work together.  I know wierd, I even went to the fourm on THEIR website and there is a ongoing thread (over a year) of complaits about this, people claim it can be patched....   anyway

So I have hooked a RCA to S-video plug up that I have used on a few TVs and it works with no problems.  So I hooked up this typical setup and the laptop sees the TV.  I choose output to TV and NOTHING happens on the TV.  There are not many settings on this TV and the few that there are I of course messed with ALOT :>  I tried both the front and back Video RCA jacks, the audio did work btw.  So nothing is still working, I then got a differnt RCA-S-video plug, this actially plugs into the laptop as s-video and 2 inches later its RCA!  Still nothing, tried a new RCA cable too.

Ok all that being said I really want to rule out the laptop or my wires are the problem.  Mainly because I have used this exact setup many times correctly.

Is it TV you think?  Is the video input "burned out"?  Has anyone ever seen a TV that just will not accept this type of setup?  I plan to pick up the TV from my Dad's house were my cab is tommorow and troubleshoot further by hooking my desktop computer up to it.  I actually use the rca-s-video setup at home too.  If that doesn't work I will then hook a RCA out DVD player up.

So as you can see I have really thought out everything that could be wrong....I think.   And unless someone here thinks of anything tonight  I will finish troubleshooting tom and post results for everyone reading pleasure. 

Anyone know if I will be able to take the TV back without the box but with reciept ??  i know iknow    where's the box.... iknow.

IF it turns out the TV is just a fluke (the dvd player test with be an all tell) the TV is the perfect size for a cab, the "GAME" aux video stays on when you push the power button (didn't unplug it though).  Yeah it says "GAME" when you turn it on, and that matches the sweet button titled game on the remote.

Ummm....

Not sure that you are going to be pleased with SVideo to RCA conversion but leaving that alone for a moment....

Have you hooked something else up to that input, ie: VCR, DVD, etc to confirm it is working and you have the TV in the proper mode to be looking to accept a signal from that port (assuming its not autodetect)?

I hear ya about the picture quality but this is a easy solution.  I assure you my next cab will have an arcade monitor!     

But I got this TV to work today.  The problem was some where in the cables.  I got new RCA and S-video cables for 20 bucks a Radio Shack.  I turned the power switch off/on the 6-pack and the TV came right back on still in Video mode!
