Arcade Art Library - Copyright free?
« on: November 29, 2004, 08:33:46 am »
I need to double check that all the art on "Arcade Art Library" is free from copyright for personal use.

Looking to get the Pac Man cocktail overlay printed up.

Also, I intend to get it done on an adhesive backed vinyl.  Is this the best material?

fat chance of that, the artwork is spot on.

don't think anyone is going to have an issue with you using it on your own machine, but I would not dare try and resell any printed material.

Only takes it to happen a couple of times and the "man" will shut it down and the rest of us will be SOL for getting our personal projects completed.

Kinko's don't seem to have any issues in printing it so far.

Cheers.

Talk about being ripped off here in Australia. Cheapest I can get it printed is $80AU which is about $60 US.   >:(

At that price I think I'll go with my first idea of buying from Arcadeoverlays and getting it posted to Australia.

BUT, most of the art is actually pirate: the original artists (or their companies) did not release the designs.

Using them is just like using the ROMs. Not legal, but not likely to get you into trouble.

The exception, of course, are the original designs that are not copies of some actual arcade game.
