RIP STUN Runner

Just tossed my STUN Runner into the dumpster. 

Remember kids, Atari cabinets can't get wet.

What happened to the conversion plan?

I got a better look at the thing while I was pulling the old boards and harness.

The only thing holding it together was the sideart and some angle iron someone had made repairs with. it had cancer, bad. I ripped it apart with my bare hands.

Seems like it'd have been an easy rebuild since you have all the plastics and stuff tho!

Oh, I STILL have all the plastics, and the head part. I may still use all of them in an upright.

The thing just had too much cancer to repair, I would have had to replace all the wood, except for the head, control panel, and the piece of wood under the seat. The rest of it was ruined.

That thing must have gotten seriously wet to be that rotten. I just rescued 2 Atari cabs from an old barn last weekend. A Race Drivin and a Super Sprint. Suprisingly little damage to either cab.

The damage on this one was well concealed. It didn't look bad, until you looked underneath or inside. I actually bought it knowing it had the water damage, just not realizing how extensive it truly was.

I have been doing some test fits, and it looks like I can turn the head into a 13" JAMMA countertop.  So I might do that with it. I sure have a 13" monitor I have been wanting to use in something,

too bad you didn't rip it apart and use the existing boards as templates for new wood.  You might have found it 1/2 day to cut all the boards and rebuild it in a weekend...
