Can't get MAME 86 to play Neo Geo

Wondering if anyone has gotten MAME to work on NEO GEO roms.  I've used Neoragex for them but I trying to integrate them into my MAME run cabinet.  The ROM versions I have aren't recognized by MAME.  Any ideas why?  Thanks. If that won't work, does Nebula support a vertical monitor (like mine)?

MAME will play "supported" Neo-Geo ROMS.

That means Metal Slug 1,2,3 and X are cool, but 4 and 5 are not. Samurai Shodown 1 - 4 are in, but no 5. Because those games are still "active" arcade games.

The ROMS also need to be specific to MAME I believe... not just any Neo ROM from the "0ffsh0r3 H0uZ3 0f 3muZ" will work.

Most of the NRX roms are different from the roms that MAME uses. You will probably have to acquire the correct roms for mame, and then it should be working. As for Nebula, I am not sure, but I am sure that somewhere in the docs it should say so. If not, maybe someone else here can help you out.

Correct! If you have the Neoragex roms for them, they will not work in MAME, and you need to find the newer different dumps.  You will also need a neo-geo bios, the newer correct one.
