Sega (nanao) 200-5112-15 Ms8-26se
« on: November 20, 2004, 12:41:49 pm »
I am looking over this chassis for a buddy and after doing the cap kit, I get no power??  I double checked all the cap orientations and they check good--I have checked a couple of the larger resistors near the 120V in and they come out ok--Anyone have any guess or even know where I can get a schematic of this one??  I want to double check all the cap values and make sure they are correct as well as start troubleshooting this one.

You'll need to order the monitor service manual. Talk to the techs at Sega USA (www.seuservice.com/search.html)

The service manual must be order thru a Sega distributor. The techs can tell you who you closest distributor is also.

Hey thanks Ken--great link you posted there--I'll add it to the FAQ for people with SEGA machines to refer to.

Just an update on this (in case someone somewhere has one of these) I checked the HOT and it was shorted.  I put it in a new one and it shorted instantly as well.  This makes me think the flyback has a short in one of the windings.  I spoke with joey from jomac (http://www.jomac.net.au/mon.htm) --friendly and helpful to say the least! and anyways he has yet to find a schematic for one of these things so I'm waiting back to hear his diagnosis of the problem.

Actually from speaking to joey from jomac, it seems the manuals for the monitors themselves are rarer than hen's teeth--if you do find one can you distribute it around?  In his email to me he said he's been looking for some time and has yet to find one.
