Help w/ Mamewah and SNES
« on: November 16, 2004, 01:59:16 pm »
Hey guys, hope someone might be able to help me out setting up SNES on Mamewah.  I have two problems I can't get to the bottom of.  I have setup 7 other emus with my homemade layouts with almost no problems!  So anyway..

1. I have many different file extentions for my SNES roms.  I have figured one of the rom manger programs would rename them, if so I could not figure that out.  So how do you setup Mamewah for all those file extentions the SNES roms have?

2. Ok here is one that is kinda strange.  I will attach my SNES.ini file at the end.  When I try to just put one of the file extentions in the ini just to check out a few of them I can't can seem to get the game list to generate.  I can still get emu's such as mame to re-generate, but when I go to the SNES options and push 1 on the generate option it does -nothing-.  I have to push 2 of course to esc back.

Well ahhhhh   :D  Any ideas?

Anthony

LOL, ok I never wanted to edit a message so bad and I don't see the option to here.  I had pushed 3 on my snes list before I tried to generate it!  So the filtering was on. :) Well that was kinda funny.

I still need help with the multiple file extention problem if anyone has any input there!!

The easiest thing to do is zip up all your roms, and they will then have the same extension '.zip'.  They'll take up less disk space too :)

Really it's as easy as that!?  Great.  I'm off to try that.  Thanks Minwah!

Anyone know the best way to do this?  I have ZigZag, It does batch ziping.  But then I get file name like xxxxxxxx.smc.zip  With the .smc in there the pictures/art I have won't match up will it?

Not sure, but there must be something available to do it.  It looks like you need one which allows you to specify the output name so you don't get the .smc...

I used Rom Center to then rename the zip files again.  A few files didn't get done right because they weren't in the dat file I had, but with that being said, there probably aren't any art files avaiable anyway.
