Very cool!

I'm a big fan of Pixar, I'm thrilled to see that they included my favorite little car in this film.  8)

i wonder how long it takes a movie like this render..
i remeber doing some cheezy lightwave models and the thing would take all damn night with two hived Pc's.
a movie like that, must take 3+ months just in the render farm.

Lot longer than that.  There were some frames in Monsters Inc. that took a single renderfarm computer over 36 hours to render.  Just a single frame.  24 frames per second of animation... adds up fast.  Thats why they have thousands of nodes in their renderfarms.

Nope, that stuff doesn't take as long to render since most of it was shader tricks and effects.  The real work comes to just straightup polygons.  The scenes I am referring to were where they were in the HUGE warehouse with 10,000's of doors everywhere.

I tried to do a right click/save target as on that URL earlier and the file won't play locally.  I end up with a 512 byte file.

Can someone please explain how I can save this stinking movie to my computer?  I've tried right clicking and "save as" with the following link...

but it doesn't save the actual movie, it just creates a file with the correct name!  >:(

PS.
The post above mine does infact make sense because I deleted the post above it which was the direct link contained in this post.  ;)

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I can't wait... I love pixar, they do some amazing stuff.

Has anyone heard of a Monster's Inc sequel?  I remember reading rumors, but that was it.   That's a fav of mine, wish I could find a concrete answer on if a sequel will happen or not.

The future of anymore sequals if very much in doubt right now.

The contract between Disney and Pixar runs out as of cars.

Disney and Pixar have not agreed to a new contract and the last I heard was that they have stopped negotiating.

As far as I know Disney has the rights to the sequals, so if they made them it would probably be without Pixar.

Pixar is now looking for someone else to do the distribution of any new movies they create.  Sony is supposedly one of the possibilities.

Pixar was the creater and producer of the movies.  Disney handled the distribution and marketing.

Disney can do sequels to any of the Disney/Pixar movies... just Pixar won't be doing them for Disney.

What a shame Eisner wouldn't pony up the dough to keep Pixar. One of the few shining jewels left in Disney's crown is about to fall out.

At least since Pixar never really used "Disney" characters we can still expect quality stuff from them. I'm just sorry it probably means we'll never see a Pixar made Toy Story 3.

Yeah the end of the relationship is a shame since I'd really love to see Toy Story 3 and Monsters Inc 2.... made by Pixar that is.
